The Hungarian writer, often described as the “Master of the Apocalypse,” is known for his complex and haunting works that serve as powerful warnings against the dangers of totalitarian systems.
Several of his novels have been adapted for the screen by director Béla Tarr, including his first novel “Sátántangó” (1985), which Krasznahorkai and Tarr adapted into a screenplay and which Tarr later directed. Their collaboration continued with “The Turin Horse”, an original screenplay inspired by an anecdote about Friedrich Nietzsche, also directed by Béla Tarr. Both films were co-produced by Vega Film.

Directed by Naishe Nyamubaya and written by Shivana Naidoo, the film is an ode to the tenacity of the African spirit. The project is a co-production between Kulfi Films and Vega Film.
